Someone holds up a newspaper with the headline 'Butterfly Child Photography' while reading behind it.

What a pleasure it is to have you here! I am the owner of Butterfly Child Photography & Leila's Village Project.

I am so excited to get to know you and capture these exciting or loving times in your life. When I decided to pursue photography, I didn't exactly know where the journey would take me. A few years later, I am just starting the business for it. My work is personal. While it is a collection of different moments, light and feeling - you will find bits and pieces of my heart as well.

Truthfully I am one of a kind, and willing to capture just about anything along with bringing the party!

MEET MY FAMILY

Brandon, Leila, Tillie and Della.

I am born and raised in Minnesota actually grew up and have stayed in the same area pretty much my whole life. I have 3 girls, one with wings and 2 here on earth with my sweet husband Brandon.

We are learning the life as a young family. My happiness comes from my children, family and friends. When I'm not traveling with my kids and husband, you can find me crafting with my kids, enjoying a good farmer's market or enjoying the days as they come and pretty much outside during the summertime.

Leila- is forever 8 years old, she passed away in May of 2023. She loved Minecraft, fishing with dad and arts and crafts with mom.

Tillie- is 4 years old & is a firecracker. She loves playing dress up, riding bikes with her cousins and

snuggling with mom.

Della- is 2 years old. She enjoys snuggling with her daddy, bluey & playing with her cousins.

"What about Mikaela?"

Well I'm the heart behind Butterfly Child Photography. I’m a photographer, a mama, and a big believer in capturing the real moments — the messy hair, the muddy feet, the belly laughs, and quiet hugs. My work is all about letting kids be kids and families be themselves.

Butterfly Child Photography was born out of both love and loss — a tribute to my daughter in heaven and a celebration of the beautiful chaos of raising children earth side. I photograph with emotion, tenderness, and a little bit of magic, honoring both the joy and depth that come with family life.

If you’re looking for photos that feel like you, that hold meaning, and that preserve the fleeting seasons of life —

I’d be honored to be your photographer.
